Additional Ribsy Information

Henry Huggin's dog, Ribsy, is hopelessly lost in a huge shopping mall parking lot. It's raining hard, the pavement is slick, horns are honking, and drivers are shouting. When Ribsy thinks he has found the Huggins's new station wagon at last, he jumps in the open tailgate window and falls asleep, exhausted. When he wakes up to find himself in the wrong car, lots of little girls pet him and make plans to give him a bath. All Ribsy wants to do is go home to Henry. Instead, he's about to begin the liveliest adventure of his life.

Preformed by Neil Patrick Harris

What Customers Say About Ribsy:

I would give this book 41/2 stars.I hope you decide to read this wonderful book. Ribsy was off to another home. The story begins when Henry Huggins's family and their dog Ribsy head to the shopping center in their new station wagon. Ribsy decided to escape, and quick. When you read this book, you will feel like you're there, watching everything happen. He accidently pushes the button that rolls down the window with his paw. Ribsy accidently pushed the button that rolls down the window with his paw. Attention Animal Lovers.

The next thing Ribsy knew, he was getting out of the car looking for Henry Huggins. Ribsy also met a women living on the side of the highway as he was traveling along. When they get there, Henry and his family go and shop and leave Ribsy behind in the car. If you would like to find out the ending, you will have to read this book.My favorite part of the story is the beginning when Henry, his family, and Ribsy are going to the shopping center. Ribsy, who was an old and colorblind dog, saw a brand new-looking station wagon that seemed the same color as the Huggins's car. By: Sienna ComptonDo you like great stories about animals. If so, you should read "Ribsy" by Beverly Cleary. I learned from reading this book that having a dog, even a silly mutt like Ribsy, is a great honor.

Ribsy had gone to school to play with children, but this did not work because he just ended up chasing some kid's squirrel. She took care of him until she made him do tricks and wear funny looking clothes around her friends. When the wrong family opened the car doors and piled in, he was very confused. I know since I have a dog that dogs aren't just silly pets that you have to feed but they can be your friends too.

After Ribsy had gotten tired of looking for Henry and also barking and sniffing other dogs, Ribsy decided to look for his family's car. (: Ribsy hopped out of the car on a search for Henry Huggins. It's a great adventure about a dog that gets lost, and travels on his own back home.

He also tried sneaking home with a young boy after going to a football game but again he just ran away on a search for Henry Huggins. As soon as the family was home, they had decided to keep the dog so they were going to give him a bath. They get out to go shopping and leave Ribsy in the car. He got in.

Not a tear on any page or a crinkled cover. Great condition. I bought this book for my son to write a report on from Amazon, and WOW. The pages were a little brown from normal aging; but other then that. Thank you Amazon for your excellent time in the delivery and condition of the product.Sincerely,Mary from Florida They stated the condition of the book was good. I say it was great.

After reading that book now I want to get a dog like Ribsy. I thought it was great. I have read a lot of books by Beverly Cleary. Mostly about Ramona but never about Henry.

One day the family hopped into the car to go to the shopping center and Ribsy chases the car until they let him get into the car. They end up taking him home and giving him a bubble bath.

Frawley, staying in a childrens classroom, playing in a football game, going to a boy named joes house, and going down a fire escape at a hotel. He escapes and goes on many more adventures including living with old Mrs.

The Huggins family had just got a brand new shiny, clean, green car, and Mrs. For a Long time he searches for the car until he sees a brand new, Shiny, Clean, Red car, Ribsy ( being colorblind) he hops into the car and when he wakes up he is surrounded by girls.

He ends up back in henrys car and on the way homeI liked this book and i recommend it and the other Beverly Cleary books. Huggins wants to keep it that way, so Ribsy has not had one ride in it.

The family heads into the shopping center leaving Ribsy behind in the car, He spots a tiny Yapping dog and hops out the window to chase after it getting himself hopelessly lost in the huge parking lot.

They can easily read it on their own, helping one another on the vocabulary, and they stay interested. If you're a teacher who is looking to keep your class occupied while you hone in on students with learning problems, then let them read any of this series and they will let you work with your group for a half hour without interruption. Ribsy is one of Beverly Cleary's series on the children of Klikitat Street in Portland Oregon. All have asked to take it home to finish it. If you're looking for a good gift for a child in 3d, 4th or 5th grade, this is one. It is pure 50's childhood and very entertaining. I use this as an independent reading selection for groups of my fourth grade ESL students.
